Recording and Production
for Common Folks
What's So Different?

It is not my effort here to downplay the big guys.  I just want you to know what to ex
pect.
Here's what I have:

13x13 office/living room with a window unit ac and old style gas heater.  It's a quiet neighborhood, but no soundproofing.  I also have an old style kitchen with 12 foot ceiling that is turning out great for acoustic instruments.  This is my home.  Quaint and cozy.

13x13 living room with a hammock to take a break or do any writing.  We also enjoy a two lot yard which can be a great area to take a breath as well.  We can make a pot of coffee or a pot of tea.

Here is some of the equipment I have:

Two $150.00 Behringer Condenser Microphones.

One Rode NT-2 Microphone.

Isolation headphones.

4 Input sound card on a dedicated recording computer.

I use Sound Forge, Acid, and Cubase software for home recording.

I use Corel PhotoPaint for basic graphic design and Word to put it all together.

I have education by experience, but no formal education.  I have spent time and some minor cost to get a decent, basic, recording setup.  I think I put out a product that is very good, even to the point of putting it on Itunes.  (You can check it out by looking for Kundalini Bliss in the Itunes store).  It is not to downplay myself, but I want to be upfront about the differences in what I offer compared to big professional recording studios.  What the other guys offer is great and they earn every penny they make.  It is my effort here to bring recording and audio creativity to common folks.

Here's what "they" have:

Live rooms that can be 14 feet high with real wood floors.  Control rooms that can hold full bands and isolation booths for vocals, or anything acoustic for crystal clear sound

Lounge areas for the recording artist to write and take a break.

Here's an example of the kind of equipment "they" might have:

Pro Tools HD3 Accel System w/ 32 Inputs & 32 Outputs
Apple G5 Dual Core 2GHz w/2GB Ram

Digidesign Pro Tools 192 I/O w/ A-D and D-A expansion cards
